This week was filled with good things.
Went to lunch with my sisters and mom. Good times. I'm glad everyone lives close enough to get together often.
-I went with my daughter in law to help her while our grand daughter had some tests done. Thurs. They are testing her for all kinds of things. She’s developmentally delayed. She is progressing still, but she’s about 9 to 11 months behind. The nurse gave her some medicine to knock her out and then took about 15 min. hooking up all the wires to her little head. She was supposed to be monitored for about 20 min. but she woke up after about 10 min and they kept recording with her moving around for another 5 min. and then the nurse had to stop because she kept pulling the wires off. She is so adorable. What a precious little girl she is. She is so happy even when she's disoriented. My favorite picture is when she first woke up and her hair is crazy.
-On Tuesday Taylor did the Iron Chef with his Scouts. The competition was between the scouts, the teachers, the priests, and the laurels. The ingredient everyone had to use was cheese. The scouts came to our house and made calzones and pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting. The teachers (Chaz’s group) made quesadillas, The laurels did a fondue cheese dip with lots of things to dip and the priests hid theirs in the microwave and then brought in the microwave on the rolling cart in the church’s kitchen. They had an In & Out hamburger cut into thirds for the judges to try. The Bishopric were the judges. We all met back at the church for the judging. The calzones won of course. It was a fun night. Taylor always makes it fun. He’s just a big kid.
-Finished my sewing machine class. I learned so much even though I’ve been sewing for about 35 years. (I got a new sewing machine for Christmas. )
-Juli had her magna cum laude awards ceremony where she walked down the red carpet with the spotlight on her. It was for her grades in math. She is a math wiz. She takes after her Dad in that department. As we were sitting at the table, another Mom said how great Chaz did on his final in choir and that it was such an honor to be chosen as a freshman to perform at the “Night of the Masters”. I asked her what she was talking about and she said that Chaz got picked as one of 11 out of about 100 kids to perform. When I went home and asked him about it he said, “Oh yeah I got picked to do this thing with a few other kids. I’m not sure what it’s for.” He was surprised to know it was such an honor. He does have a great voice.
