Sept. 2009

i took care of Mack and Cate while Jenny and Brad went on their cruise. During that week we had a court of honor for the Young Men and the girls had a special skin care night that Robynne was teaching. I went to the Scout house to buy the awards with Mack in his stroller. I had to get about 70 awards. He sat in the stroller for a long time, almost an hour. (It takes a long time to do the paperwork for everything.) We were almost done, we had about 5 min. left. He started going bizerk. He started pulling off the stuff off the displays and walking around with the stroller attached. I finally tipped the stroller back so he couldn’t touch the floor and finished up all the purchases in a hurry. I started to put him in his car seat and he starts yelling at the top of his lungs, “I DO IT!! I DO IT!!” So I let him try to climb up in his carseat by himself. After about 2 minutes of him hopping over the seats and playing I said forget it I’m putting you in your carseat. I don’t have time for this. Juli gets out min day and I have to go get her. Oh my gosh, he started yelling and arching his back and kicking and hitting. I guess that’s when you know he’s tired and had enough.

He had Trix cereal, poptarts, cookies and choc. Pudding along with fruit and cheese and yogurt. So we exposed him to some yummy food and not so healthy food. I’m sure he’ll live. I’m sure Jenny will do a detox this week. He and Cate are so smart and so adorable.

It was a long full week and I’m glad I’m healthy so that I can give service to others. I started praying about 6 weeks ago to help me do His will and not mine. It’s a hard thing to adjust to. Usually I would pray, “Help this person to get better, or bless this person with a job” or well you get the idea. I’ve started praying more like, “Help me to be of service to those who need me. Thy will be done.” It’s been interesting the difference in my opportunities to serve. I’m glad to be able to do it. Tomorrow I’m going with a friend to Las Vegas to help her bring her 2 grandchildren back to Chino to babysit. She didn’t want to travel alone…Another unique opportunity to serve.
