We had teacher appreciation this week. Monday was taken over with doing the certificates and decorating and putting everything inorder. We ended up having FHE at 10:00 at night. Tuesday was finishing up everything and having our Super hero teacher appreciation. We had 36 teachers come, 31 teachers were non-members. The teachers gave such positive comments: "We wait all year for this." "Everyone's been talking about this. I'm so glad I got invited." You really made me cry. There is such a special feeling here." "No one does this. This really makes us feel special." "I didn't think I was anyone's hero until Rudy stepped up to the plate and invited me. There is such a good feeling here. I really am impressed." "Thank you for doing this! You guys are so wonderful!" The Jr. High and High School teachers in particular made mention of how special they felt. I'ts such a good missionary experience for them and the kids. I know Juli and Chaz are always glad after they've done it. It strengthens their testimony. It's a great service we/they do for the community. It's a lot of work but our pay back is the teachers feeling apprecitated and especially when they feel the Spirit. They don't know what it is or how to describe it, be we know what it is. Right after that was over we whisked over to the High School for Chaz's closing shoir concert. It was really fun because he and 3 others dressed up like the Beatles in one of the songs with Beatles wigs and round funky colored glasses that Taylor's office tinted for them. They acted it out when the choir was singing the Beatle's song Help. They had the most incredible patriotic finale. In the middle of it they had the Veterans who've fought for us stand up and then we said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the Star Spangled Banner at the end. It was very emotional. There were a lot of kids in the choir crying because it was so moving. I'm glad he's a part of something so great. I had to do a presentation on the YW value knowledge. I had something planned earlier in the week and last night when I was going to bed I started reading it over and felt so inspired to go a different direction so at midnight I rewrote what I did. Basically I told them how important it was to get a testimony and doing all the little things is what is going to help them to get one. I really was quite emotional and I hate when I get that way. It was good I think becasue when I sat down the YW president said that my comments lead right into her lesson. And her lesson was on being an example. It was truly inspired. I just hope the girls will take to heart what we try to tell them. Anyways, another report form the crazy life of Taylor and Cheryl, Juli and Chaz.
