Spring Break in Orlando, FL

Here’s some more details about our trip last week. We followed the CHS choir and band around...sort of. We got back last Monday. Disney has 4 parks that comprise Disney World.

Animal Kingdom- Like a zoo. It had a safari and a dinosaur ride that we got stuck on. And then after almost 5 min. It started up again and a huge t-rex scared the pants off of us. It had lots of trees and all different kinds of animals and birds. There was a cool bird show that our neice knew all about the birds. Caleb and Lisa told us to go on the Expedition Everest ride (The Yeti ride) but failed to mention the going backwards part. I was screaming, “I hate this ride! Stupid Caleb!”

Magic Kingdom- Most like Disneyland. The president’s hall of fame was closed so that was a bummer. The tiki room was different. We saw the fireworks and parade all lit up at night. Sleeping Beauty’s castle is different from Cinderella’s castle here in CA. There is a restaurant you can eat inside the castle like club 33. You have to get reservations at least 3 months ahead of time. We didn’t know or else we might have tried. We liked this park the least. You had to park your car, then take a tram to the front. Then you had to cross a lake either by ferry or bridge. Then you had to take the monorail to the entrance. Everything is really spread out.

Epcot- This was the most unique. It did have CA Soarin. Only we didn’t know it was CA. We thought it would be FL. It had different countries that you walked through. It was like you were really in those countries. The pastries in France were the best ever. We went back another day to get some more. We ate Chinese food in China and had good Mexican food in Mexico. The fireworks show was amazing. It had this huge world in the middle of the lake and had a movie on the world with music while the world was turning. The fireworks were going off all around it. Pretty cool.

Hollywood Studios This had lots of movie stuff. They had American Idol where real people tried out and we, the audience, judged. They had Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones stunt shows. It was amazing to see the set transform from an ancient temple to a market place right in front of our eyes.

On Taylor's birthday we went to Universal Studios. I especially like the Dr Suess land. It was like you walked right into one of his books. The Poseidon adventure, the stunt show with cars, the Simpson ride. We bought Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts. Our nephew went on the roller coasters with Juli.

We would text Chaz and find out what they were doing and then we’d see if we could find him. He didn’t really seem to care so we did our own thing and watched his performances on Wed. and Fri. He seemed to be having a great time with all of his choir friends, mostly girls. It was really fun hanging out with Taylor's brother and his wife and their daughter and husband. They were delightful. I was so grateful for them taking Juli on the roller coasters. I’m not a good roller coaster rider.

How fun! That is quite a way to travel for choir- I would have hated doing all the fund raising they probably had to do! Looks like you had a great time- Julie is one lucky little girl!

Your comment about France made me laugh... I can't even count the # of times I went to that pastry shop.

Good Times
