This week Caleb, Phillip, Eric, and Mike did a concert in Los Angeles and a club called the El Rey. They played 9 songs. It was really fun. They did great. So much better than at the high school. I didn’t want to go downtown by myself so two of Brett's friends came with me because Taylor and Chaz were on their campout at Vasquez rocks. Yes it was deep fry night. They did twinkies along with everything else. Chaz got sick so he’s got a bad cough and cold right now. Part of his problem is he won’t go to bed on time. He stays up forever reading and doing homework and then still gets up for seminary. I kept telling him he was going to get sick but he won’t listen to me. Why doesn’t anyone listen to their Mom? I’m not dumb. I'm their greatest ally. I guess that until you’re married, kids just don’t understand that. Ce la vie.
I did a personal progress activity on Tues. I had pictures of all the prophets and trivia about them. Richard G Scott’s wife told him she would only marry a returned missionary so he went to the Bishop and got his paperwork filled out. 2 weeks after he got home they were married. Russell M. Nelson has 10 kids. Pres. Monson raises pigeons. 2 were presidents of BYU Oaks and Holland I think and 2 were presidents of Ricks. Eyring and Bednar 7 of them served in the military. Etc. I hope it gives the girls a little inside info to help them remember at General conf. time. I think it was fun and interesting. I met with the last girl’s Mom today to update the Personal Progress records. That makes 18 finished. It has been a great experience. I marvel at how busy they are and how good they are trying to be. Our New Beginnings program is on Tues. It is one of two big things the girls do each year. The president put me in charge and I’ve been putting all the details together. Hopefully it will all turn out on Tues. I felt very inspired to go in the direction I have and have the night focus and the girls knowing that Heavenly Father and Jesus know them as individuals. I’m sure it will be nice because the girls are so adorable.
Today we had everyone over for Tom’s birthday. There was quite the houseful. Two different games, stories, trampoline, trains, playhouse, eating, laughing, and all that goes with that. It was fun because it’s been a while since we all got together. The softball games haven’t had so many fans there.
