Apr. 6, 2009 Dodger game / Track meets

Ok so wasn’t conference the best? I love how straightforward Pres. Monson is. There seemed to be a common theme of follow the prophet and go to the temple. I love how listening to the General Authorities makes me feel. I feel safe. Yes that's the feeling. I'm old enough and good enough and gosh darn it people like me. (Gary Smalley quote from SNL) I guess I'm at a point at my life that I know what they are telling me is right and if I follow the council I will be OK among all this craziness going on around me. That's the feeling I get on these conference weekends.

This week was full of track meets. Chaz ran the hurdles at Chino Hills high and Azusa Pacific. Juli’s track meet was at Chino High. So Taylor took Chaz to his and I took Juli to hers. We all baked in the sun for about 9 hours. I had the worst headache Sat. night. They both took about 4th or 5th in their events. Juli did really well in the long jump. She ran the anchor for her 4 x 100 relay. It was a long day. The thing about track meets is sitting there for hours and hours for an event that lasts about 1 minute. Basketball was more fun to watch. It is exciting when they’re running but it’s so long to wait for them. I did read a book and talk to everyone around me. I have the weirdest sunburn where the sunscreen didn’t hit.

The boys all went to the all you can eat Dodger game on Fri. I’ll have to have Taylor write the stats. Tom had a gall bladder attack and was in the emergency room all night after he got home. When the Dr asked what he had eaten he just said, “Oh a couple of hot dogs.” Yeah right. Even Tyler ate 4. They had a grand ‘ol time.
